THE CHARTERING BASICS
To be eligible for the chartering program, one must:
Be a full paid member of Sandusky Sailing Club and
Have previously completed Sandusky Sailing Center Basic keelboat course or
Have appropriate sailing credentials and be approved by Sandusky Sailing Center
OR
Have completed Sandusky Sailing Center's Basic Keelboat course in the current year.
In the year that an individual completes the Basic Keelboat course, they will be given a "Crew" membership to Sandusky Sailing Club for the balance of the year.
A "Crew" membership includes:
Access to Sandusky Sailing Club grounds
Invitations to all club hosted events
Ability to charter Sandusky Sailing Center boats
THE DAY SAIL BASICS
No previous experience is required.
A captain will accompany you for the day.
Equipment needed:
USCG approved PFD, close-toed non-marking shoes, sunscreen, water bottle

Available Boats: Colgate 26
A licensed captain will be on board at all times.
Reservations are required minimum 1 week before requested date.
Travel area is determined by the captain on board.
This is a sailing only experience. No lessons or instruction will be given during the sail.
Boat check out/in will be handled by the captain by Sandusky Sailing Center Staff.
Fee: $350 per half day (4 hours, up to 2 people). $150 per additional person
Max 5 TOTAL people

Available Boats: WindRider 17
Must be able to independently sail and navigate the vessel.
Reservations are required minimum 1 week before requested date.
Boat use is restricted to Sandusky Bay.
Day Sailing Only – Dawn to Dusk
Boats will be checked out – in by Sandusky Sailing Center Staff.
Fee – $400 per full day (8hrs), $200 per half day (4hrs).

Must be able to independently sail and navigate the vessel.
Reservations are required minimum 1 week before requested date.
Boat use is restricted to Sandusky Bay.
Day Sailing Only – Dawn to Dusk
Boats will be checked out – in by Sandusky Sailing Center Staff.
Fee – $300 per full day (8hrs), $200 per half day (4hrs).
Chartering and Day Sail opportunities have a limited schedule.

Cancellations
Cancellations
There is a $50 cancellation fee for any reservation cancelled and not rescheduled. In the event a cancellation is necessary, your tuition will be refunded (less the $50 fee and any processing fees) if notice is received a minimum of 7 days in advance of your scheduled class/reservation date. If less than 7 days notice is given, your tuition will be refunded (less the $50 fee and any processing fees) ONLY if we are able to fill your class/reservation spot with another student.
